Looking for recommendations on where to get a new A7750 movement to swap into my PAM. Finding A7750 clones, and/or Shanghai 3Lzf2 movements themselves is not necessarily hard, but I need one with just the seconds at 9 and the date; no chrono. I only found one on ebay, but it isn't polished up at all. (Yes, the display back isn't all that crucial, so it's still a possibility) I am finding nice ones at various sites, including ebay, but they are all chrono'd up, many with day and date. I am hoping that I can get a good one that won't need to be torn down and serviced before I can even use it.

I've checked Otto Frei & Cousins.

Am I asking for too much? I am new to this so I am not sure.

Thanks for any advice!

Dhandler,

I'm also looking for an A7750/A7753 movement. Would you care to share the websites besides eBay that offered the movement?

Thanks!

Here are a few:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...tic-mechanical-valjoux-watch_60303996725.html

http://www.allwatchparts.com/-Chinese-Automatic-3LZF2-Mechanical-Movement_p_916.html

There was also a site where you can purchase "high quality" movements; implied that they were pre-serviced and cleaned, but I cannot recall or find a like to the site right now. I think it started with a 'j'. If I find it, I'll post it.

Thanks DHandler. Will definitely check those sites out!

@Dhandler are you looking for a chronograph 7750, or a modified one for a PAM? I got an ETA7750 from Otto frei and it is phenomenally accurate out if the box... Runs +1 second per week. Please note that the rep chronograph seconds hand will not work in a gen 7750, so you need to source a gen handset or have the pinion swapped. For a non chronograph 7750, the options are slim. Personally I'd get a used gen ETA and have it serviced and the subdials and date removed as the subdial, minute and hour hand should fit.

Thanks @teddy875 ! I was looking for one for my PAM. I was thinking about the ETA modify and swap as a plan B, but I was lucky enough to get into Strodda's queue and got my current 7750 serviced. Like @erekose said... they do show up on eBay every so often.

Strodda does excellent work. I've got a tudor with a keyless issue with him now. After a full service, you should be good for many years to come. There is some debate among the forum swiss vs serviced asian due to machining, materials, etc, but overall you should be close to as good as a gen ETA when all is said and done. Let me know how it works out!

Fortunately, it was already in good shape and actually didn't need much work. Came down to a simple bridge cleaning and spring fix, so I was very happy! Been wearing it for a week with no issues.

Excellent to hear! I'm always happy when the repair bill is less then expected.

Just to follow up from my earlier post I replaced the movement in my PAM 616 yesterday. Straightforward except the date wheel, which I swapped. The teeth on the date gear and the wheel are loose, allowing some slop on wheel position...but not a deal breaker IMO.
