Hi guys,
Me and my father were at AP boutique and he was amazed from the Royal Oak offshore navy.
I want to buy for him rep of this watch.
Before I write this post , i searched about this rep but I didn’t find review or opinions from members, all the post are old from 2014.
I saw all the TD wrote is a JF model so I’m guessing it’s a good quality, but there is something that I need to know beyond?
Tnx for the help

The watch on your picture is a genuine Navy ROO.

There is a very good version out there from JF - as you already said.

JF ROOs are out of the box very nice watches and as good as it gets for the price IMHO.

But keep in mind that they are not perfect. As long as you don't tell your father that the watch you bought him is real everything should be fine haha

Dont expect that an AP expert wouldn't notice the watch's flaws. If you want to achieve a better gen-like look you have to mod the watch.
But that is another chapter - and i believe you would be pleased by the over all look and quality of the JF rep.

Ryan from InTime is a great guy - but thats just my personal experience. You can choose any Trusted Dealer from the TD List on RWI you want.

Like on all ROO Reps the Date wheel sits 1mm too far to the right because of the movement that is used (A7750) that is such a small thing - I can live with that.

another thing is the height - gen ROOs are like 14,5 or 15mm in height or so. The rep is 16mm - again because of movement limitations.

everything else would be too picky as we cant expect a watch at gen specifications for 5% of the genuine price haha

as i said - you will be pleased by the over all quality - and if you are not - there are options to modify you watch without buying genuine parts. Just have a look at the AP modding threads here in the Audemars Piguet sub forum.

For the beginning - this watch will make a great start - just don't overdo it when it comes to Chronograph using as it is a fragile movement - but don't worry, just a kind reminder.

Welcome to RWI ;)

I hope that helped you a bit.

Post some wrist shots once you receive your watch!

(and if you want the watch with a rubber strap additionally, just ask the TD to order one - he will do and you will have additional versatility)

before you order make sure that the watch is in stock - means: ask the TD if it can be ordered from the factory before you place your order/ before you send the payment. If it is not available you have to switch onto another model or have to cancel the order.

So just make it clear at the beginning of your order process ;)

don't wanted to get too picky as it is a minor thing IMHO... But of course you can explain a newbie the result of a Dubois Depraz chrono Module on top of a base movement HAHA

I'd say most if not all higher end AP ROO models of JF is very high quality if you treat them in isolation, that is you don't compare them to the gen.

The most obvious and perhaps instant tell is the date window. While it may just be 1 mm off to the right, the difference is pretty obvious especially for the 42mm models as the DW is sitting directly adjacent to the tachymeter. This is a bit remedied on the 44mm models due to the extra space the case affords it.

But again, if you can live with the inaccuracy compared to gen, build quality and finishing by JF is very good.

For the sake of correctness, ap roo 42mm reps range in the 15.4 to 15.8 mm thickness. Gens hover around 14.3/14.4

There are 42mm roos where the dw positioning issue is less evident , think of jarno trulli, sebastian buemi, end of days etc..

Obviously the crown positiotining is wrong always

Details for a non rep savvy hard to catch if you ask me

THIS. Too bad the Trulli has a much darker shade of grey. Otherwise a great rep with some spacing on the dw-tachy
