teddy,
just wondering, i know you have experience in movement identification, but how would i learn to identify myself?
i checked the other sticky post and went through each movement on it to try to find it myself.

what did you look for to see it was a miyota and that particular calibre?
where should i go to learn to spot movement types?
many thanks

First and easiest way to at least narrow down the possibilies in is to look at the regulator and balance. Then you can start to focus on the fine details and further narrow it down. There are good guides here to help you learn.

Hi teddy, i stripped down the movement and ordered a new stem to replace the broken one. When i removed the old broken stem, it was thinner than the new one and the new one wont fully insert into the available stem hole now. Is it possible I have a different Miyota movement than the 8215?
Again i am new to movement identification, but it would be great to get this repaired.
Many thanks
