Help with Crooked Dial

Hello All! I am a complete noob with a lot of this stuff, but have really enjoyed learning and reading on this site. Unfortunately I am on my second ZZF watch with issues. My first was an 116610 that has a really crooked 6 marker. It also has issues changing the date. That is being looked at soon. I then picked up this 114060. The markers look to be aligned correctly, but the dial appears to be shifted in the case. The movement is an A2836. Is it possible for me to open the case and adjust the positioning of the dial? I read some previous posts about other watches where it was recommended that the movement tabs be loosened and the movement adjusted. That was for a different watch though. Is it possible to do that in this one? Any advice would be great!

Which way would you shift the dial and for what reason?

The 60 tic appears to be perfectly centered on the rehaut crown as are both letters either side, X to 59 and R to 1.

So any dial rotation will throw all 3 of those off. The 15 an 45 tics are both off, but fixing those would ruin the above.

The 12 triangle looks slightly too far clockwise to me, the insert triangle slightly more so. The combination of the two does make it look a little off.

You can attempt to rotate the dial like you described. VERY slight rotations are tolerable as long as the stem is not being stressed. Loosen the tabs, rotate the dial while watching the stem. If you can see any bend in it at all or if it returns to it's original position by itself, you've adjusted it too much. After tightening the tabs, test the full stem functions to make sure it isn't going to be too tight or not work properly before closing up the case.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it looks like the 12 and 3 are aligned. It is the 6 that is bugging me because it is not centered at the bottom of the watch and is a bit angled. It is almost like the dial, rehaut, and bezel all need to go a half click counter-clockwise to line up with the case. Maybe it is not that big of a deal. I'm not sure if I could fix that without messing up something else. I might wait until I ever need it serviced to have someone look at it.

a slight dial rotation counter clockwise would get most of the rehaut letters under their repsective tick marks. and that amount wouldn't hurt the stem alignment too much. but if you should visualize that and see if it's worth the risk of getting hooked on modding lol!! in this case i would probably do the rotation but also because i was going to open the case anywhow. good luck!

^^^ that’s what I would do. Honestly though, if you’ve never worked on a watch or any movements, I would just leave it as it is. It’s barely noticeable and even gens have markers that don’t line up.

I think that's too much OCD. The watch is good and has rehaut / coronet and bezel triangle centred better than some gens have. Just google Rolex misaligned rehaut, bezel, date, dial etc you will get a lot results and pics. A lot of the of gens on the pics online I've seen will probably get rejected as bad reps by new members here I find myself thinking sometimes.

FlyguyGA By the way we already met in your other thread about your LN date where I posted my pics as well. Funny thing is I also ordered the no date should arrive next week.
