Guys needing some help. It's been a long time since I worked on a Panerai. I was able to find a Dsn pvd case (I know it's not correct) but it was with the old spring loaded crown and a cg that was wrong. I did find one if his latest cgs but the freaking lever won't close. If it was ss I'd file the lever but what are my options? This is with the current spring loaded crown and the t48 I have for it fits even worse

Don’t force it. You just need to shorten the stem.

Judging by this photo, the oud crown lies on the case, and it is unlikely that it will be possible to press it closer due to the shortening of the stem.

I think it is because he is pressing it down hard and it is spring loaded.

So OP writes that he would not like to file the lever, because it has a PVD coating. It is clear that, ideally, only the plane in contact with the crown is processed, but here it is only his fear that, despite this, damage to the coating may be noticeable one way or another. Right, COLDI ?

I have one of the last crown guards DSN made, same issue. Imho the only solution is to file the tip of the lever where it meets the crown

Correct. It's pressed further rin because it's spring loaded. Guess I'll get my jewelers file and take some off the lever

What about checking thickness of crown o'ring? Another way would be to drill a larger hole in the lever to allow lever to sit a Little farther From the crown. And even add a rubber around the pin to Make it Snap tight but with some more tolerance.

I usually do the opposite to my pam to ensure water resistance, i install a thicker o'ring in the crown, when lever is whoobly outside of the box!
The other way to avoid damaging the pvd would be to Make thé pin hole in the lever larger and wrap it in an electric wire rubber tube as you Can find as a tip to mod Pam CG.
My DSN 202 came in with a too tight cg lever, i changed the o'ring in the crown for a thinner one and good to go (and waterproof)

Changing crowns rubber gasket my be worth a try but enlarging the lever hole doesn't sound really good. If it would work youd find yourself with the lever not being flush with the CG anymore when closed

Yep, not flush anymore. O'ring is in my opinion the best option

Even with the o ring out the lever won't close.

Another option would be to shorten the crown Tube on one side. If it is a t48 crown, there is a lip that covers the end of the crown Tube, it would be invisible PVDwise once the lever is closed.
Or you Can find anorther CG. There was a sale not long ago on HF, maybe Can you fond someone willing to trade
