Help with Carbotech rep

Hello,

I was offered this rep in an M2M trade but I don't know anything about Pams so I'm not sure if this is a good rep or not. To my eye it looks like it may be PVD and not carbon fiber, and I can't seem to locate this on any of our TDs sites.

What do you think?

That's why I asked, haven't been able to find it on InTime, PureTime or Toro. I mean I can find this watch but not this version. This one the case back looks different, the bezel markers seem thick and it seems too "shiny."

This would be my first Pam.

I agree with you on the case. It doesn't look like true sandwiched carbon fiber.

I did he's not sure if it's carbon fiber or steel, I believe he got it in trade as well.

That's a cheap pvd version, it's definitely not forged carbon or from a well known factory.
Here's a similar one at Trusty for $148

Trusty's pvd one is actually better with an accurate date font.

I'd say the IWC you'd be trading is worth at least double what that cheapy 616 is worth IMO

After doing some looking at the ones on PT...this does not seem right to me either...

Maybe you'd be better off passing on this...or posting in the Panerai section for some more expert advice...

That one does at least look closer to the real deal than the one for trade...I never knew they made a fake of the fake LOL.

That's not carbon fiber. Here's what the pattern on the rep with real carbon fiber looks like. Note that the bezel on the one you have is not even layered when viewed from the side, showing the pattern on the top is only "skin deep."
