Help with a metal retaining ring -- Pam Luminor casse

I bought a Pam 111 in an M2M sale a few years ago which was DOA. I finally got around to sending it off to Katt to look at and he came back with this:

"I got the movement to run just fine. The metal retaining ring is causing all kinds of problem however. If I tighten down a screw then the set -wind function will not work wen you pull the stem back and forth. I tried sanding down the ring that didn't help either."

Has anyone come across this issue before? Is it common? Is there a fix? Where can I source a replacement part?, etc. I'm afraid I have no idea which factory made the watch or any other information on it.

Any advice or help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Ask Katt if he can make you custom retaining ring mate, I'm guessing that the ring put a pressure on the stem.

Wouldn't it be better just to get a new watch? That obviously is not an accurate PAM111 rep.

A Metal Retaining ring in a 111??? Never seen this. Well, at least I haven't. Other models, yes.

Yeah, come to think of it, I've only seen retaining rings on auto movements. Not on manual winds.

Thanks for the input fellas. Truth be told, I have no idea what model pam this is -- it was represented to me as a 111 years ago at the time of sale but I knew less then than I do now (which is paltry). I think I'll take it back and use it as a training watch to start modding and deepen my understanding of the hobby.
