Chromed: thank you kindly! I noticed a weird "ding" on the 6 o'clock side between the lugs and got really suspicious. Not sure how it got there as its only a week old and I babied it.

I bought it brand new from a trusted non-AD dealer in NY and grew suspicious due to the weird imperfection.

It is a gen movement
Rep decorated is inverted to that position
and engravings are worse and inverted too

No posible doubt

Lume shot... Let me know if I should be worried or not. Might stop by the Pam boutique in NYC this weekend for peace of mind but that may seem weird

Took it to the Panerai botique on Madison Ave today. They confirmed it is Gen. I guess the movement is the easiest way to tell. Particularly the font, finishing, screw size and color. ALE7575 was right..: And what can't be sensed in the pics is that the rotor doesn't spin freely in the p9000- it does so in increments, unlike the rep movements where the rotor spins quicker and more fluidly. He also mentioned the crown being pressed against the case being a tell-tale sign. Feeling for that spring against the crown. And the "lume punch", length of time it stays bright... Guess they're pretty familiar with reps.
