Hi all,

I was about to buy the PAM524 gen from the boutique today, and the only thing stopping me was the credit card limit which I imposed on myself to stop this kind of thing :ambivalence:

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with what I want to do.

Build starts with a PAM312 KW, with 7750 movement.
I want to relume this a vintage lume colour.

That's easy enough, but here comes the hard part:

Can I put a running central seconds hand on a KW modified 7750??

I would like to steal a blue seconds hand from a PAM253, and try and modify the 7750 movement found in a 312 to accept a seconds hand again.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? Should I go back to the boutique??

Thanks.

I am no expert - but i do not think that it is possible to have central seconds on this movement. Although theoretically, a few extra gears could be added to transfer the seconds from 9 to make them central (But this is a pure speculation)

But i do not think there are many who would take on this task. Maybe Domi and thats a big maybe

I'm pretty sure it is actually possible, because the 7750 movement originally had a center chrono hand. It's just been modified to do away with all the chrono module bit. If it's not possible then bugger it... :(

If you put the running sec in the center, what are your intentions of the running sec at the 9?

Nothing- it will keep running. Both hands will always be running I guess. Or, the center seconds will just be frozen.

If you dont need the center hand to run as a running seconds, then it can be as the chrono seconds hand.

Then the answer is yes, but it might just be easier to find a functioning chrono movement than to restore the chrono funtion to the modified nonchrono 7750

The 7750 is not a central seconds movement, it typically is found with native seconds at 9 or is modified to hae seconds at 6 or 12. If you want running central seconds your options are limited. get yourself one of these

That looks great grimlock :)

i thought that since the 7750 chrono movement has center seconds and sec@9, I could have both a la pam524. Is this not possible? Even the 187 has sec@9, date and central sec.

Sorry, I thought you wanted running central seconds. The central chrono function is no problem. But you'll have no way to control the chrono function with a 312 case.
