Help wanted PAM 690

Hello everyone,
Finally,
I am going to look seriously at a REP. My choice is a Panerai PAM 690 (blue dial with Sunburst). I would like to ask you to help with the choice. I think there are 3 possibilities: KW, SF and anotherone.

Price is important but not the most important.

I know there are differences in the glass. The version of SF does not have a dome at the plexi, as the sappher version does. The other one has a dome of plexi..

I also read somewhere that ZF wanted to make a 690? I hope you can help me make a choice.

I was in the same dilemma when making my choice. I ended up opting for the KW version for various reasons; one, being price.

I went for the SF v2 with the Sapphire. Wear it often, had lots of compliments, changed to nubuck croc made for me by Orloff:

I had the 690 on my radar for a while, as soon as I saw it come up with sapphire I just bought it. Not sure if it has any tells but on my wrist all I get is compliments and I guess only a PAM sales person will spot it - and I bet they still wouldn't!

Very happy with it, only have a handful of selected pams, this is now my favourite.

The blue faces lately are doing it for me.

Just had a look at that last link of the intime one. It's advertised wrong. It ain't the super clone 3000 movement. It's same as mine, KW/V6 with 6497-2 with decorated bridges to look like p3000 movement!

I meant to say the same thing. As there are only two known versions of the 690.

Yeah, reason I got KW version was it was the correct shaped crystal where as the Sf version wasn't, at the time when I purchased mine, even though the sf has the super clone movement you also know your rock solid with the a6497 movement in the KW.

Is it true that the biggest difference is in the glass and the clockwork? Do you think this is worth the price difference of over $100?

I got the SF sapphire version. I love it. None of the 690s are correct though. The dial, crystal, hands and movement are great on the SF but the bezel profile is incorrect.

One should make a hybrid 690 out of the different versions and make a super rep..what a pity! Amazing watch, which despite all the flaws is still on my wishlist..
