I just received a brand new 111m form angus. It winds magnificently but... I can't setup the time...!!!! The thing is that I can't pull the crown to setup the hands. I am afraid to use excessive force and break something! Unless I am doing something wrong? It's my first manual wind watch so it's probable the solution is something stupid I overlooked but help will be greatly appreciated...

When you raise the crown guard lever all the way up, does the cam portion get far enough away from the crown to give you some clearance? It's not much, maybe less than 2mm.

When I disengage the lever, the crown moves outwards about 1mm. But its impossible to pull it further...am I missing something? (unscrew or something?)

This is probably the stupidest question: do you unscrew the crown or it's just a pull out like auto pams?

Hmm...

If you have to unscrew it, you must turn the crown counter-clockwise until it pops away from the case.

I have a 113 and it came with a spring-loaded crown that did not screw down.

Good luck.

maybe the stem is too short and isnt engaging in the second position to set the time?

I had to use a screwdriver for leverage,! It seems nothing has been damaged!

So you can set the time now?

I had this issue but the other way round, where I could change the time but not wind it. I took the back off, took the crownguard off, unscrewed the stem screw in the movement a couple of turns, and then pulled the stem and crown out of the movement. I then put it back in and made sure it was secure by re-tightening the crown screw. So far so good, I can now pull / push between the time setting / winding position! :)

Yes, everything is fine now. I really don't understand what happened. The crown was stuck. As I said I had to use a screwdriver for leverage (it was that hard!!!!)
