Hi guys,
I hope you can help, I have an old replica Rolex 116710 which I'd like to get going again.
The counterweight has come off so where can I get I get the screw that attaches it to the movement ?
I have the weight, not shown on the picture.
And a new seal for the case as well.

I'm not sure what the movement is, can anyone identify it please ?
I don't think it is anything special, so if I wanted to replace it with a better quality movement, what would you suggest ? and where can I get one from.
Thanks from a newbie

As far as replacing the screw goes, I think that your best bet would be to buy a small watch screw assortment and find one that works. Those assortments are readily available on ebay, and you could probably find one on CousinsUK as well. I think that movement is a GMT version of the Miyota-based 21j movement. I think the movement is called a DG3804. You could certainly replace the movement with a new one that is the same type, but upgrading the movement is quite a lot of work, and rarely if ever worth it. The dial, hands, movement holder, stem, all need to be changed or modified for a new movement, and even that isn't guaranteed to work unless the movement that you're putting in is close enough in some dimensions to the original one.

Thanks that's great advice, I didn't know about CousinsUK, what a great site !
I think I will do exactly what you said, get an assortment of screws first and that could be the answer.
And I take your point about upgrading the movement, though part of me wanted to use this as a project to find out more about watch construction.
But if I can get the watch back working for a few pounds then that is a better option and I will look for another damaged watch to practise on.

I thought I would upload a few more pictures of the movement and the weight to help identify it, it has absolutely no markings that I can see.
