Honestly, there was a period in there where Cartier Tank watches were arguably inferior to the reps made today...and so much variation in styles that there's no real good reference guide.

I looked at getting one of these myself, but never really trusted any of the ones I found online. In this case, it's probably better to either get a rep, or bite the bullet and pick up a gen in stainless...they're not terribly expensive.

I am somewhat certain that it is a gen. Older gens, as @dpd3672 has put it, were not as good as they are now.

The movement looks period correct ETA off the shelves.

Crown is aftermarket, should have a cabochon. Caseback looks overpolished.

Thanks, I would be able to get it at 600 euros. What do you think?. It’s broken so it would still need a service.

I's a Must de Cartier made for the South American market in the late 1970s, early 1980s. It has the wrong crown missing the cabachon and the thick, 20m plating is worn through not on the on the case back, but also on the front at the corners of the brancards. My advice, don't walk away, run!
