Help Spec/measure 1616 Pip

I know you all have a huge amount of knowledge, tools, experience and resources available and I'm looking for a little help because I have very little of all those things.

Many of you know the pip on my 1616 fell off. I have dealers trying to help me get a replacement but it's not looking good and it's not happening quickly enough for me.

I did find a shop that can make one for me. But they need exact measurements and details/descriptions. I did measure it and write up a small description but I know you guys can come up with a much more accurate and appropriate way to describe this. I think I'm looking for :

size of the indent
size (diameter) of the entire pearl
Size (and how to) describing the rim
size of the luminous part of the pearl
Depth recessed

And anything I may not have considered?

And just so you know how desperate I was getting, I was on the verge of something like this.

I would reach out to every TD first and see if they will source the part. Be patient. Nothing with TD’s is typically fast.

I would also reach out to any modders

also all the TD's and factories are on holiday till after the 7th of October.

Yeah, I’ve twlked to a few TDs. They’re working on it for me but haven’t reported anything optimistic. That is why, I’ll take this guy up on his offer he said he can make one for me and for a reasonable amount of money. I went to the engineering department at the university to print up a caseback opener for a Panerai and while I was there, I used some equipment to take some measurements.

WorstSt thing that happens is I spend a few bucks and end up with an extra pip.

Since you had the PAM799, I imagine you could reasonably get the same measurement as with the PAM1616 bezel pip since the production of the two are so near each other.

Yea, I was looking for someone to check my measurements and also, every time I ask the board something someone provides some insight about something I hadn’t thought about. Also my only digital calipers are pretty shitty. That’s why I was just looking for the confirmation but it was pretty straight forward.

But I was able to borrow a set on campus today and got some good measurements so I ordered it this evening. Hopefully it won’t be too long and won’t look too bad. At least until a dealer can work some magic and convince the factory to send one my way.
