Help sourcing Panerai

Hello everyone,

I've been following these forums for some time and recently joined. First of all, my hats off to this community and the people who maintain it. The amount of information is astounding!!

I am interested in buying a few Panerai reps, as long as they are top quality super clones. Not looking for perfection, I know that's just not possible, but closest I could get to a gen with a quality movement that will last.

I tried reaching out to a few TDs but so far no luck. One of them actually told me "Its a bad time to hunt for Panerai replicas. A lot of them are discontinued. The brand is going down in popularity."

Can anyone help in locating some? I love the brand and all models, so I'm not picky on which model as long as it's a top quality super clone rep.

Thanks in advance!

If you've not purchased Pam's prior you may want to consider sampling some of the m2m sales or picking up something from a dealer. Unless you interact with people who have a habit of buying from auction houses or ADs, most people you meet won't know if it's the real deal or a rep.

As you found out TD's won't have any items referred to as super rep, they're no longer made but once in a while you'll stumble onto a find at a TD. The manufacturer will always refresh their line with new models.

TDs will carry reps, it's a matter of asking yourself if this is something you see yourself wearing and if so, do you want to purchase it. The story about Pams going down in popularity is subjective and this statement can be applied to other brands as well. The dealer is in the business of selling watches, regardless of make or model, and if his inventory is low or gone for one thing he'll turn his attention to another.

Thanks for that Martycus,

I own a gen Rolex Submariner but I really like Pam, so I figured I could get a few reps as I don't want to drop upwards of $15k on a watch. From my research on this forum and others, it looks like there are good quality reps out there and I don't mind spending $1.5k for 3-4 watches that look almost identical to the gen. As you said, most people wouldn't know the difference.

What do you mean that super reps are no longer made but TDs will carry reps? Are you saying that TDs will only carry reps that are somewhat subpar, or of lesser quality than a super rep? I did see posts from members that purchased a Pam recently within the last few weeks and those looked like super reps (or at least very good quality ones). I just don't understand how the supply just dried up all of a sudden...

It did not dry up all of a sudden. Maybe 3 years ago, it was the peak of PAM releases; a new rep every month. Then came the great Noob sale (one of the big 3 in PAM factories at the time) which they sold most of their stuff. People thought they were going to release new stuff so they waited...and waited...and waited. It turns out that Noob was mostly going out of the PAM game and switching to Rolex. The second of the big 3, H-Factory, was shut down for good last year when authorities raided the factory and arrested its owner. The last, KW which changed to V6F, then later fractured into two smaller factories, XF and VSF is the only one still making PAM reps until last year. We're still waiting for new stuff from them, because rumors had already gone out that they were launching the new PAMs featured in this year's SIHH but so far not one watch has been released yet.

You would be better served keeping an eagle's eye out in M2M, not to mention a fast trigger finger and a ready wallet. PAM reps get snatched up very quickly by eager buyers. Good luck.

That is really good info, thank you so much!! I just found 2 TDs that said they have a lot of models available, Kevin from Kuvarsit ([email protected] www.kuvarsit04.com), and Stan (WackoBirdKeeper). Do you know of them? Any thoughts about buying from them?

So Noob have stopped producing PAM reps? What about the Noob PAM 111 v4 or the Noob PAM 127? Are they still churning those out?

re; Super Reps no longer made but TDs will carry -- on occasion you'll find a few NOS models. Put another way, as with all manufacturers of non-watch items, say automobiles, refreshing their line is key to innovating and sales. If all they made were that same few model automobile, others will instead be innovating with newer models to draw buyers. Occasionally a dealer may find a couple of brand new unregistered vehicle from a couple or few years ago but once those are gone, it's no longer available.

111, 127 & 005 are classed as super reps though.

Correct, yes they are. My reply was based on reps out side of those as the OP indicated he's looking for top quality super clones an later suggested Kevin has these super clones; which he does not. I know of one TD that had a couple

The ones you mentioned are still available but super reps like the Boutique's SE or the 027 - 029, are not.

Most of them, but I heard Noob is on holiday at the moment due to raid season. So may have to wait a little while yet?

No one except the TDs know which watches are on stock in their office so the only way to know is to ask them one by one.

No they won't. TDs don't usually waste their time on forums. Their staff limited as they are, would be more suited for taking and fulfilling orders. If no one inquires or orders on the forums, they just log in and log out. They would be much more accommodating and responsive in email communication. Don't expect them to chase after you, that's not how it works. Otherwise, you'll be seeing why everyone else is getting nice PAMs while you aren't. Now you know why. ;)

Much like what Mysterio mentions, you need to do the work, don't expect it to be handed to you. On that note, I'm surprised by the number of people asking an m2M seller to PM them because they're interested in a watch. The seller's already done his part with QC, taking the risk of purchasing assuming it's from outside his country and creating the post. The least they can do is PM them and inquire.

Unless it's you or dadog13 or superspark69, sellers must rush to send you pictures as it's a sure thing.
