Hi All. So a baffling thing happened and I'm only getting around to dealing with it now. The crystal on my Flyback cracked somehow, never saw how it happened. Found it like that in my case.

Anyone know where I could get a new crytsal and also how hard it would be to replace? Even better, if anyone has suggestions for a one stop shop solution for this that would be amazing.

Thanks everyone

Great! Thanks guys...@smokie yeah, it's sapphire. I never knew that, so weird. I'll take a look at that seller. More options are still welcome as well. Keep em coming.

That's a bit more $$ than I was hoping, though I'm sure it's great. Any lower $ ideas??

Your local watchsmith should be able to do it cheaper -- its been a few years, but the last time I had that done I think it was around $100. Temperature change has done that to some of my pieces. One Christmas I was moving my old lady's luggage into her parent's house and the bitterly cold outside to heated inside cracked it in 30 seconds ...

Thanks guys...I'll go check at watchsmiths. Good to know I'm not the only one who had a mystery crack.

@kpoy nice watch btw. I was also wondering, how are the crystals at that cousins site? They don't seem to have 44mm sapphire, only mineral. I wonder how they are...also, I'm correct in assuming I need a domed 44mm for my watch right??

For 44mm case you need 35.50mm crystal. cousins sell them on the site

You should check with Josh or Andrew, H-factory has some sapphire crystals with colorless AR which were made for the 382. They should fit the newest versions of the HF's 212s and 253s. These are being reviewed over at RG and are very close to gen at a fraction of the cost.

Good luck!

Hi,

Long time dead thread, but my 253 has just popped its seconds crystal and I'm on the lookout for a replacement. To the OP - or anyone else who would know - what size and type of crystal is needed for the PAM253?
