Hello everyone.

Before You read the entire Topic, I want to be clear: my English is not perfect, I know, it's not an excuse, but you have to forgive me for any grammatical mistake you'll read. Now back to the topic..

I got this Vacheron Costantin as a gift from a friend, but some months later he left us.
We shared the same passion for watches.

When he gifted this to me, I fell in love, but I've not been able to find what this reference is.

On the web there's nothing about this kind of case shape, dial, only similar.

At this point I thought "It can be a really rare genuine (1%), or it can be a inexistent replica(99%)".
We all know that kind of watch, with Panerai dial, Rolex case, Patek bracelet... nothing which can be even marginally compared to a decent one.
The "gen" option fell off just after a fraction of a second: this is a quartz movement, Miyota 1L45.

But I was wrong with the two options, making space for the third option: I found on a book named "Orologi e Passioni" a picture of this exact watch, genuine, but there's no description, only "1950 Vacheron Costantin geometric case shape and indexes", no name, no reference.

Maybe this watch is rare, but this replica seems to be a decent one, according to the pictures.

I run on the web all the possible keywords, "geometric vintage Vacheron Costantin" but nothing.

I am not an expert in this Brand. Have you ever seen this model or reference?

Hope I'll find an answer, and at the same time I'm happy to share this story with you all. Hope you enjoyed this Topic.

No harm in sending a photo and inquiry to Vacheron through their website. Especially with the story of how you received the watch, there would be no questions even if it was a rep.

Unfortunately cannot help on the identification, but that is a stunning watch! If you do find out it is a rep, please let us know your findings.

I apologize if I explained myself wrong,
it certainly is a rep watch.

The research I'm doing is for the reference/model name.

I want to find out why there's only one pic of a gen (on book, not even online).

This piece seems to literally be a ghost. Even the book, has only one picture, without any information but the year (1950 circa).

I noticed some issues, due to the time/quality of the plating thickness.

See nearby the crown, the plating is going away (probably due to the finger abrasion in the years)

And the same thing on the upper surface(not the polished one).
In this case it's so light that can barely be seen on the picture.

Now here's a missing screw and one longer than the other two.
The word "Geneve" is clearly incorrect (Genve).
And I don't think even a gen 50's Vacheron Costantin like this could go 100ft straight down in water.

However, I'm glad you appreciate the watch and its history, thank you.

I'll try this way too.

I'm 100% with you, this piece is really important for me.
In every case this is a piece I love and preserve. I usually wear it in formal occasions.

I'm searching the ref/model name because I'm curious.

We all know that emotion in doing some research on a watch and find something unexpected in its history.

I did some research and it seems to be a model called "flared".
There are quite a few variations on Google pictures.
