Help needed - Pam Rubber Strap - Gen or Fake?

Hello Paneristi and Strap Freaks. I need your help. I bought a Panerai Rubber Strap on ebay, that was sold as "guaranteed genuine" ...

Because I never had a Gen Pam Rubber Strap in my hands, it is hard for me to verify this. The quality is very equal to the strap that came with the VSF 1176. Surprisingly the rubber strap I bought here in combination with a 005 here on M2M ...

... feels much more "worthy". So I have doubts, if the "gen" strap from ebay is really "gen" ;-)

So I hope, you can help me. As I have 30 days return right, it would be no problem, to send the strap back to the seller.

Here are the pictures. The "005-Strap" is on the left, the new one from ebay in the middle and the "1176-Strap" on the right.

Looks like Gen but remember it's rubber and OLD Gen rubber will also break when the plasticizers are gone

Thanks for the tipp. But now I cleaned the new strap and will keep it. It was 110 Euro incl. shipping - thats ok I think.

To my knowledge GEN straps are made in Austria. REP straps are stamped with Italy ( so far )

And i have Reps with "Italy" and "Austria" and the new stated Gen says "Italy" too ;-)

There's a few for sale on C24, showing different labels : "made in Italy", "panerai Italy", "made in austria"...
It seems the production goes in both countries and there are different generations of straps around.
