Help me pick a Monaco rep

I've recently fallen in love with the Monaco, and WatchEden has a whole selection for just over $100, which is great for me.

The first ones I saw were quartz, which is alright because the small second hand ticking on the subdial won't be too noticeable:

However, I noticed that for the SAME PRICE, I can get an automatic watch, but I have some concerns about this:

http://www.watcheden.com/tag-heuer-monaco-chronograph-automatic-with-blue-dial-i-10315-p-1

It says this uses a 21J movement and has a fully functioning chronograph, but I thought you needed a 7750 movement for that?

I've heard that asian automatic chronographs that count the seconds in the 3 o'clock position are prone to failure. Does this count seconds in the 3 o'clock position?

Or are the subdials on the automatic rep used for different purposes than on the gen? And the big red hand is used for seconds instead of just for the stopwatch function?

Obviously if you've got a 21J and a quartz for the same price, the 21J seems like it would be the better buy, but I suspect there's something screwy going on with the functions of the watch, and that the quartz watch might be more similar to the gen.

If you guys could help me out with my questions and concerns, I'd really appreciate it! :ahw:

"Fully Functional Day-Month-Military time chronograph dials"

This wording is confusing to me. It says "fully functioning chronograph dails", but the "day month military" part puts me off. The gen watch is a stopwatch, right? Where does this rep count its seconds, the big red hand?

Yes. That watch does not have a functional chrono. That movement won't run a chrono; only the quartz and the A7750 will do that.
If you're going to actually use the chrono get the quartz.

And, if you're actually going to use a car get a Toyota Corolla instead of a Jensen Interceptor.

The subdial markings on the 21J will be very different from gen and easy to spot as a fake. The quartz running in the subdial seconds will be virtually unnoticeable unless you hold your arm quite still. So wave your arms around a lot when wearing the watch and no one will know! :)

Thanks for the input guys- right now I'm between going for a 7750 watch, or settling for the quartz.

However, I'm worried because I have heard things about 7750's being unreliable or prone to failure. Does anyone have any input on if these will be prone to failure or not?

Here are the 7750's I'm looking at:

http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/monaco-concept-24-rose-gold-white-dial/

http://hontwatch.com/productdetails_82.html

http://www.watcheden.com/tag-heuer-...ment-pvd-case-with-gray-dial-i-40199-p-1.html

First of all, would any of these watches be reliable, or is there a chance they will be prone to failure?

Second, these three watches are all priced radically differently- why is that?

They are all the same watch.

I bought the black version from puretime

Couple of things to note,

the watch is VERY thick to may not look great on a small wrist. I have small wrists but still wear it anyway but would prefer it thinner

second, this is not a production watch available for sale. Its a concept watch that tag made for the basel watch fair. So anyone who knows about tag will know its fake.

Lastly the running seconds are shown in the 3 o'clock dial and chrono mins in the 9 o'clock dial shows minutes. On the real watch, the running seconds are at 9 and the minutes at 3. Since the sub dial markings on the rep match the gen, the hands on the rep dont correspond to the markings.

with regards to reliability, I havent had issues with mine, but use it daily so will have less wear.

Regarding the price, they are all the same watch so get the cheapest one from a trusted dealer
