As you all know the 202a from DSN comes with a nipple on the cg aka the cg pin. I would like to file it down. Then I'm going to heat the pin and drop it in flax oil to make it black and repeat until I have the desired color.

My question is I found this pic:

From the pic it doesnt even look flush...like I'm better off keeping the nipple...what do you think?

Would you polish the pin like a normal SS crown and then blacken it or file it down and then make it black? So either a flat black or a semi-polished black...any help would be awesome

Thanks in advance

I don't know anymore Coldi. I have read and heard all cg pins are polished on gens. I have seen cg pins on gens that really don't look polished to me. In the 2009 Panerai catalogue some look like they match the finish of the case and cg.

Flatten, polish, heat, soak, repeat heat and soak until it matches the color of the CG.

You will need to heat the pin until it is nearly red hot. I used a kitchen torch to do it and it still nearly 30 seconds of direct heat to get it hot enough. Once you drop it in the oil it will start to blacken immediately. BUT it will take 2-3 dips before it is the correct color.

Sorry I didnt reply to your PM... Some friend I am, huh?
