Hi everyone, I have been looking into these watches for weeks researching about them mainly on this board (as a lurker). I've found some great information here but I am even more confused now as to what to get I didn't know the A7750 required so much money and work to keep it ticking + i'm rather nervous of it dying on me within 6months. Both are around the same price of $228 (for the 177) and $248 (for the 253)

Asia Valjoux 7750 Automatic Working Chronograph (28,800 bph)

Which one would you pick? Thanks in advance.

This depends on if you want the chrono or not. I personally have all non-chrono watches.

I wouldn't worry about the 7750 crapping out on you, they're good movements.

If I had to pick one of those two, I'd go with the 117. I've never liked pams with lots of subdials.

Hey mickey,

The first rep I bought was the 111 which basically is the sister of the 177 and my second was the 253.. I find myself wearing the 253 more, simply because of the auto winding.. As I've been enlightened by ALE, as long as you know about the "what not to do's", you'll be fine.. Looks and features wise you would have to decide for yourself..

Buy whichever you like, enjoy it, and don't worry too much about how long it will last etc.. Just my opinion :)

thanks for the opinion guys. I love the chrono look but I also want a relatively reliable watch, which i have heard that 253 is not even in the latest 253 version. This is due to the thing coming from the factory with dust/dirt in the gears and no oil requiring a $200+ service right off the bat.

Whereas I heard the PAM177's 6497 is very reliable but of course is a rather plain and a bit more common.

Aside from the not playing in water and rarely touching the chrono on the 253, what are other things that you shouldn't do a PAM253 7750?

I personally am interested in the 253 right now, and thats how I would go. To me, the difference is fundamental relating to the type of dial you want. I like the busier dial of the 253, and the blue accents. Between the 177 and 111, I am aware that the 111 noob is the best, pretty much bar-none. I personally like the titanium though of the 177.

253 for me though.

Hi mickey
I think this is your first or almost first rep.
The PAM 177 is more simple but that is one of the beautiful things of these PAMs
In the other side are the PAM chronos like the PAM 253. These more complicated PAMs are beautiful too. But their running and working is more complicated too.
For the first replica is better going to the most simple ones. Threfore a PAM 177 or better a PAM 111 or 005 are very good choices.
Why are recommending you a 111 or 005 better than a 177 ?
Because they are made of SS instead of Titanium like the 177.
The Ti is more darker and "misterious" and very nice, but Ti is very shoft and delicate and scratches very easily.
Therefore for wearing everyday I recommend you a watch made of SS.
PAM 111 from Noob, PAM 005 fron H or Noob and even PAM 029 Noob are very good choices.
Of course I like too the 177 !!

wow thanks for the replies. The more i look into things again, I am now looking into the PAM 111 from Noob due to the suggestions. I read that the 177L actually uses a cheaper 6497-1 movement whereas the 111J noob uses a 6497-2. Anyways...

Timeshops is out of stock. Can someone recommend me a trusted shop for a noob 111J that'll ship to Canada? I looked the vendors page and most have not posted in awhile. Thanks everyone

Why 111j? You should get the newest 111N from n-fact.

Also, yes the 6497 is quite a resilient movement. My 111h is from '97 and it hasn't been serviced since. It loses about 5 seconds a day :D:

Any dealer should be able to source you an 111N from noob factory. Most list wether the watch is from H or Noob Factory in the description of the watch. I hear most are out of stock at the moment, I know Trevor is for the next two weeks.

So basically the letter following the model number on the pam, eg. 111h, 111m, 111n is indicative of the SERIAL number etched on the back.

n-fact (noob factory) and h-fact (hublot factory) are two manufacturers, whom both make/made H/M/N serial number pams.

I hope that clears up some stuff. Basically N>M>H. Also, n-fact>h-fact>nonspecified-fact

Quality of Ti??

hey guys,

the 177 is a beautiful watch with the sandwich dial..
i like the non polished style too but eventuelly how is the quality of the case of the mentioned V2 177? Is it very fragile and gets fast scratches? Please, 177 owners, give some advices/ your own ;) experiences to that matter.
btw is it possible to remove scratches...:unsure:perhaps by using real fine sand paper ????

thx!!
