Help me choose my next rep...21j or A7750

Hello everyone,

I know that this may not go over well for most, but I decided to build my entire collection of quartz reps.

I have started with a Hublot Big Bang Black Magic and a Tag Heuer 1887. I would like to order a Tag Calibre 16, but I am not sure which one to get.

I already had one in the past. It was a 21j from TS and I loved it. Only problem was I broke it after excessive shock. I am pretty rough on my watches on a day to day basis. It was extremely low priced and it cost more to fix it than it did to buy a new one! So it is pretty much a pretty paper weight at the moment.

I have given up on finding a worthy clone in quartz and must get this watch in auto in order to be happy. My main question is should I get a 21j for less and just be very careful with it or should I get a 7750 for more and have the ability to repair the watch if it does get damaged? The 7750 would be closer to 1:1 than the 21j, but it also requires more care especially when adjusting the date and time.

What do you guys think I should do?

'm sure many other people will be on to discuss the pros and cons but, reading the board, I thought the 7750 was a bit temperamental and difficult to fix which is the opposite to what you are after.

Personally, on that basis, I would go for a 21j (at least a replacement mech is cheap when it does break!)

I personally don't care for the 21J movements. I bought a Breitling Navitimer that I just can't stand. Although it was cheaper in price, it wasn't nearly the same quality as my A7750 Nav. The case was cheaper, the bezel didn't click(free-spun) and that tick-tick. If you don't run the chronos the tick really isn't that big of a deal. But to watch that big second hand ticking away-ehhh! I know that the quality isn't the same on all 21J movement watches but that was enough to convince me. I know that there are some people that love the 21J's, but not my cup of tea. I think it is better to spend the extra and get one that is closer to the real deal. Be careful with setting the date and time and maybe have it serviced somewhere down the road and it will serve you well. Just my opinion.
