Help me choose a Panerai and the seller...........

Hi All,

I am struggling to decide on which Pam. Having read the guides above I am probably more stuck now from when I began. There are so many watches to choose from and many models I had never considered nor knew existed.

I need a 42mm. It must be 42mm. I wondered if any of you were taking the step into Pams again for the 1st time- which would your choose? I have no preference re the crown guard or not so will consider any watch that fits the 42mm bill. Money is not really a problem and I am prepared to go up to 400 Euros or thereabouts.

If you were to choose a 42mm watch, one that is a fantastic attempt at a replica, which one you would buy and why please? I'd also be very grateful for a link to the appropriate seller.

I was in your position a few days ago.

Before joining this forum I was a Rolex/Omega only guy but having been subjected to amazing photos and reviews of Pams I finally decided it was time to get my first.

I ordered the Pam 512 from Sead (Supermirrors) and will review as soon as it arrives.

I also considered the Pam 439, 337 and 338.

Ultimately you are the only one to make the decision and by already deciding you want a 42mm you've already narrowed it down a fair bit.

Are you sure you want a 42mm!? I bought a 111 (44) and a 512 (42)...it ended up i gave the 512 to my girlfriend. My wrist is 6.3" and I can't see that HUGE difference
Tbh the 512 it is not a PAM... the 512 is lovely but once you wear a Luminor >=44mm you can feel the Panerai philosophy...

my advice is to not judge a PAM by size. For example a 312 (44 lum) wears bigger than a 587 (47 radiomir)
