It's a rep, plain and simple, of which there are many (River released the case set a few years ago). It's not a genuine Prototipo Anno 1985 1000 (or Mille) Metri from Officine Panerai. There were only a handful made in 1985 (4 only each of the Titanium and Bronze if memory serves me right). Ultra rare and very expensive. It does not have the accompanying dive strap (the box obviously isn't in the pictures). Plus for a watch that was produced in 1985, it looks remarkably clean. Not that I'd expect it to because it would be extremely stupid to clean the 30-year patina off the watch. Whoever told you it was genuine was either pulling your leg or a scammer or just ignorant.
To paraphrase Don Rickles "If that's genuine, then I'm a mild-mouthed fighter pilot." :hehehe:
Thank you. I took the picture myself. Watch came from a well known watch dealer who I know and I’m friend with that’s my I asked!
I hope he wasn't serious when he said it was genuine. Maybe a genuine bronze case, but definitely not a genuine OP Mille Metri. That's how Alessandro Bettarini's Enebbi became popular, they produced a watch very similar to the OP original design.
Watch also has a receive from CROEM, dated in1993. He told me CROEM was a case manufacturer, crystal bezels and some other parts hired by Panerai
I've heard of Croem but from what I've read they only supplied fittings and adjustment parts to Panerai during the Pre-V era, Coro Spa was the company that provided the cases. Also, if you see the photo by kilowatorre, you can see the vast difference in appearance of the bronze case. Your watch looks like it was just bought recently, not even last year, let alone from 1993. Maybe you can take a picture of the receipt from Croem for the watch (not sure if your friend will allow this)? This is purely for discussion's sake, of course.
