Accidentally dropped my PAM and it doesn't wind anymore. It doesn't produce the "clicking" sound when you wind it but if you turn the knob clockwise it has that winding "clicking" sound?

Anyone know what's wrong?

Also, in a desperate attempt i tried to open the case back with a wrench (i know always use the right tools for the right job) and the caseback is now scratched. Any ideas how and what to use to make fix those scratches?

Thanks.

Not gonna guess what is wrong but without a case back wrench use a ball of duct tape (sticky out) or a rubber ball, works 99% of the time and it won't leave the back scrwed up if you fail or succeed.

Use a rubber ball, open the back and take a pic. Then maybe a watchsmith can help you :)

You could have jarred something loose in the keyless works (series of gears that link the stem to the spring or the cannon pinion). Keyless is easy to fix for an experienced modder and cheap or even free (from the right member). But you could have also snapped the main spring. Do you have an open case back? If so, can you see if your balance wheel is still spinning? Did the watch totally stop after you dropped it? You can send it out for service and hope it is an easy fix. But in many cases, just selling it for parts and starting over again isn't a bad idea.

Duct tape works great for opening pam caseback. If.i were you id just send to watchsmith.

I tried with the ball method but it doesn't work. The caseback is like being glued-on but nothing to worry about as i've ordered a proper case opener and it should be arriving today.

ALso, I think it might be the keyless works. It seems like an easy fix from some of the tutorials i find on the internet, however, to reach to that side you will need to remove the dial and that includes the minute/hour/seconds hand am i right?

Ok found the cause but i believe the keyless is botched as well. Anyone know how to reattach this back? It seems to be connected to the spring.

ouch, need to send it to a talented watchsmith, even experienced watchsmiths usually don't take apart the mainspring.

I think you should replace the movement completely. An asian movement from our TDs isn't that expensive, and will likely be worth it in the long term.

The problem is it is open case back and it won't be decorated. I had this very same duke an and voted to sell the watch. He balance wheel is broke. You can fix it but no guarantee it lasts. If you want to know I got 70 for my hfac and it went really quick. Otherwise replace it with a non decorated movement for around 60 installed.

Okay just a quick update i fixed it!

I just snapped the thing into position with my fingers and it instantly came alive! Also the click spring and click doesn't hold the ratchet wheel so it won't wind so i took off that part and reattached it properly. Not sure if i did it properly, it winds now but it's harder to wind, like the spring is pushing it back before it holds the ratchet wheel. Gave the back cover some water resistant grease and now it's so much quiet now, at least i know it seals properly than when i got it. Before this i could hear the watch ticking but now i have to hold it to my ear to hear it.

I don't mind, it's working at least but harder to wind. It's a close caseback btw and undecorated movement =-)

Congratulations! you're gonna have to regulate it though, check the timing of the watch :)

Harder to wind usually means the oil of the pivots are gone, you need to re-oil them. re-oil the ratchet, reversing wheel, mainspring jewel. Use mobeius D5, or general grease from another brand

Reason i ask is because the jewel from the incabloc fell out. :(. It looks as if its easier to replace the whole bridge rather than fixing the jewel itself

Thanks guys for the feedback. I already ordered a new movement but i also have a spare decorated 127 so i might just experiment with the 127 balance while waiting for the new movement to arrive.
