help deciding which 386!!!

Hi all, i ve been searching for 386 and now stuck on whether to choose the KW or ZF.


Apparently KW has the CAL 9000 upside down, whereas the ZF has it correctly.


I have searched through forums, read the pam guide etc but stil having a hard time deciding on which one to go with.


Are there any other differences apart from the CAL9000 being printed differently?

As the gen apparently has been cancelled by Panerai, I don't think accuracy would be your primary worry. The latest is from KW (V4) so I would recommend just based on that fact.

So it was about rotor's engravings not the whole Caliber 9000 rep movement... Misunderstanding on my side.

I see kuvarsit did not update their website and I am not particularly interested in this rep so I don't follow the versions.

IMO KW V5 Ti DLC coated version is superior in finish and movement ("real" jewels instead of painted ones)

CAL P.9000 inscription is not worse it is just a different approach to the gen

Since movement A7750 has inverted layout the inscriptions cannot be the same as gen
In Gen CAL P.9000 is placed inwards and inscription finished with P.9000 near the balance wheel.
With an inverted layout you cannot get two above mentioned conditions. In this way, if you have inscription placed inwards the inscription will start with CAL close to the balance wheel (inaccurate). If you want the inscription finishes with P.9000 close to balance wheel you will need to place the inscription outwards. You cannot keep both conditions
ZFac has just adopted first solution with inaccurate CAL close to the balance wheel
KW has just adopted second soluion with inaccurate placement outwards
Both have some kind of inaccuracy

You will get, besides, more consistent quality in KW version

In PAM GUIDE is everything commented and even better eveluated KW V5 version

But always a rep has flaws and you should choose the rep flaws you can live with
