I just wanted to make my first official post. I have enjoyed reading all the informative posts on the forum so I thought I had better make myself official. I ordered my first watch on Thanksgiving Day from Trusty and it has been fun following the tracking. The watch is currently being processed through ( I think L.A.) customs right now. So hopefully it will arrive this week. I am getting excited. I do have one question though, will I need to pay any additional fees when I pick it up at the P.O? I've never done this before so I am little ignorant and a little nervous on the matter. Anyway I really enjoy reading all the posts and just wanted to say Hello.

Hello from an excited to get my first watch first posting watch lover.

Hello crick. I have a long list of watches I would like to get, but my first one I ordered is a Cartier Seatimer with the rubber strap. I went to a local Cartier dealer here and checked out all of the Cartier automatics, I think the cheapest (least expensive) watch they sell is the Tank Solo quartz model around $ 2,000. I did not want to settle for quartz and I like the seatimer looks, so thanks to this forum I found Trusty and with any luck I will get it this week. I know my next watch is definitely going to be either a Sub or Seadweller. I recently finished an online watch class. The main movements that I learned to dis and reassemble were ETA 2801-2 and 2836-2 so that should come in handy now. Thanks for the welcome.

grats on a fine choice. That would be the black dial with black datefont, right? heard nothing but good things about it.

LOL sub/SD. I'm still waiting for my Noobmariner from TTK :( but i hear josh's or andrew's perfect sub is an amazing value as well.

Yeah I have been looking at the perfect Sub. It looks like a really nice watch. That may have to be the next one I get. The watch class is really good. Actually you can pay just $ 50.00 per lesson and you get very explicit and detailed instructions. Level 1 is 2801-2 and Level 2 is 2836-2. You can print them off on your printer for reference. These are great detailed instructions.

Where is that? Timezone watch school? I thought the first level is dealing with manual wind movement?

Welcome to the Dark Side!

Hello again. Right it is TimeZone watch school. Yes the first level is manual wind movement which is the ETA 2801-2. The second level is 2836-2 automatic with day and date. You can purchase either both or just one level. It's fun but does take steady hand and patience, oh yeah and good eyesight too.
