Having trouble finding PAM 196 with ETA7753 movement

I already asked all the dealers on the board if anyone has or can get a top quality PAM196 with Swiss ETA 7753 movement. It seems like nobody has this and could not get it from any of their contacts. I know these are in short supply, but i have a hard time beleiving that it is impossible to get.

So I am asking for anyone's feedback or suggestions where to find it. I came accross some sites that advertize selling this watch and are not on the scammers list, but I am always sceptical in buying it not from any of our board dealers.

Any suggestiong are welcome.

Thank you all.

Is Perfect Clones an approved dealer? I did not see it on the scammer's list. Has anyone ever ordered from them?
The only thing that I question on their site pictures is that one of the case backs shows the serial number, while the other picture without the strap does not. Seems like they may have multiple versions.
Thanks.

Yes they do have multiple versions, many dealers do. I have not personally ordered from them, so I can't give an opinion - but others have...

They are not among the approved dealers here. If you want to know why-

Thank you for that. I just finished reading that long post. In the meantime I e-mailed to Perfect Clones and Josh came back within 5 min to say that they are out of stock on the PAM196 with 7753.

So I guess that means I can forget ever getting this watch and look at other options.

Anyone else with suggestions where to find this elusive PAM196 with 7753?

Thanks.

They're not approved dealers, try Hont, I'm sure he can source you one. Just send him an email with a brief description and pics of the watch you want:

viewtopic.php?f=137&t=42413

He'll even beat the price of the perfect-ripoff website.

If I'm not mistaken, the manufacturers stopped making the 7753 PAM196s long ago. You would have to pick one up on the secondary market and they will NOT be cheap, if you can even find one.

I had one that I sold to babola. Wish I still had it, but I'm glad to know it's in a good home.

Great Hooligan,
Just rub it in why don't you :)

I am salivating as we speak just looking at your picture. It seems like Hont may be able to come through for me with the 7753, but the case back on his watch does not have a serial number. I am not sure if I should keep on searching or just settle for a case that is not a perfect match to the original. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks

If Hont can find you a 7753 196, do it.

It's probably the new-style case with the thinner, less correct bezel, but it's probably the best you can do.

If the Admins are going to replace text in my post ("Perfect Rip-off") with their own, could they at least note somewhere in the post that they have done so, or just replace the text with the asterisk character, instead of making it look like I had actually typed it.

Thx

Many of those who have a 196 with 7753 (especially old case), will probably not part with it, simply because its so hard to get!

all the 196 that the dealers can still get you will have a new (a little incorrect) case!

I agree with you on the case. It seems like Hont's watch is the new slightly incorrect version. The dial top sits a little lower and closer to the actual case. See Link http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff19 ... C06887.jpg
This is not that big of a deal for me, however, I am conserned with the missing serial number on th case back. According to Hont, only the asian versions that he has actually have a serial number stamped on the case back. So I am shelling out the big $ on the 7753 i wanted the case to be as close to Gen as possible. Does anyone know if the case back covers are universal? One of my options is to get a cheapie asian version and just swap the case back.

Any other suggestions are welcome. I vowed to myself that I will get this watch with the 7753.

Thank you all for the comments so far.

Well, I don't know if this will get you closer to your goal. A user on RWG has a 7753 for sale, he's taking offers now - here's the link:

I am fairly certain that T4D (reputable dealer on this forum) still has the "old style case" 250 available, which takes the 7753 movement. And the modified date wheels are starting to re-surface again. Put all this together (or get someone who can also re-lume while assembling it) and you have yourself a great 196, with a brand new movement

I wouldn't bet on it. I bought one from Angus few months ago, claimed to be the old-stock 196/250 case and guess what - it wasn't.

Also, people planning to get into the "7753/old-case set" modding, the dial also has to fit, as the one made for Asian 196/250 and Swiss 196/250 aren't the same. The date window is slightly off on dial that fits the Asian 7750.

Sorry about your Angus purchase, but I bought an "old style" case 250 from T4D/PWC 5 weeks ago and it was what he claimed. Thanks for the dial info, though.

Would love to see the case set if you have any pics handy. The quickset date button fits on these but the bezel is different from old 196, as the 196 case with thick (high) bezel with correct bevel was last made in 2006.

The ones that fit ETA-7753 I've seen these days are close to the older style ones, but still incorrect bezel shape.

Again, pics would be sweet...

I can take some pics later this evening, what shots do you want? Also, have you actually seen Robert's (PWC/T4D) sales posting?

Yes, they look different.
