Having issues with order from Eric (Geektime)

I made a huge mistake by the calculation of Erics invoice! This forum helped me to clarify my mistake and I apologize at Eric for my brainfuck in mathematics.

What a pity, I wouldn't put up with waiting forever for the Tudors and then being ripped off.

He is incorrect, your calculations are correct.

Assuming 2 orders:
Original watches = $636 + $40 = $676
New watches = $946 + $40 = $986

Assuming you have sent him $676, you've already paid for the shipping as it's already included in calculation of the $676 figure.

So you owe him $946 - $676 = $270

thought the same... but he was insisting so much on his calculation and that he was NOT charging me 2x for shipping, that I really got confused...

not here, but on another forum. That's where I discovered Eric. Our first deal went great and fast. Can't say anything bad about it. But a good TD shows his skills in bad times, when there are issues to solve. In bad times you often see the true faces of people...

He’s giving you a full credit, including shipping, for your original order against the new order plus shipping. If he had not given you credit for the original shipping charge I think your analysis would be correct. As it is, I think he is correct (unless I have missed something).

You are correct, he is absolutely wrong. That said, as a newbie here, I have read an awful lot on this forum and in my opinion the best advice you’ll get is above. Stick to the RWI TD’s

yes... exactly this way it was calculated by Eric and that's where the mistake happened. You also forgot that I already paid fo rthe shipment in the 1st order. So he can't charge the $40 shipment in the 2nd order, right?

If he doesn't charge shipping for the second order, he can only give you credit for the first two watches excluding the shipping - ie 348 and 288 = 636. His sum for the new order would then be 488 + 458 + 0 shipping = 946, so a net payment of 310.

Another way of looking at it.

This is a brand new order for $986

You have sent him $676 (think of it like a deposit)
ignore whatever was in the first order, it's not relevant now.

You owe him $988-$676 = $310
