Currently the only PAM I own is titanium, a 177H, and I'm thinking about buying a used 192 which is also titanium. I'd like to start buying extra straps, but everything I like has a polished SS buckle, which I think will look out of place with the titanium.

I do plan to purchase a 005 of 111 soon, but I would like to be able to use my Ti buckle.

Has anyone ever clipped off the sewn-in buckle so the screw on buckle could be used?

I'm missing out on all the great deals from Elazarus.

Use a rotary tool (Dremel). It's fairly easy to cut off ya just gotta be careful not to nick the strap.

If you first remove the tongue at the center of the buckle with a pair of pliers.
than either use a dremel or a pair of steel cutters to cut the center part of the buckle in between the leather.
if you use a dremel you can actually save the buckle expand it some and rmove it carefully i have done it to quite a few of them.

I went to Home Depot's chain cutting department and cut mine off.

LOL!

I have a pair of heavy wire cutters that would probably do the trick.

I used tin snips to get rid of the PVD buckle that came on my SMAT strap.

Another option would be to brush finish the sewn in buckle. Brushed SS looks a lot like Ti...
