Has anyone bought from TaoBao?

I'm just curious if anyone else here has bought off of TaoBao? It sort of the equivalent of e-bay but with absolutely everything you can think of including reps etc. The only hitch is being from Canada or the US you have to use a 3rd party such as taobaonow or someone else to get your items. I've bought a few items from them. Just basically found my item and then did a quick conversion with xe.com to see what the $ value is and then double that to include shipping etc.....All in all I've had some good experiences buying straighteners for my daughters and some vibram five finger shoes for myself...you can assume that basically everything for sale is a rep. Anyone else dabble on TaoBao or picked up any reps? I think our TD's can get a way better deal with QC etc.

I've bought some cheap replicas from Taobao before, and while the prices are good for these ultra cheap replicas, the prices for the ones with Swiss and ETA clone movements aren't competitive. I haven't bought any replicas from Taobao since discovering the replica forums.

I have bought apparels and some items from taobao through the use a 3rd party broker. So far so good. Will not recommended watches though, might as well stick to our TDs.

I currently stationed in China, and buy almost everything from Taobao, EXCEPT good rep watch. I will NOT trust what Taobao says about true ETA movements, or quality of 2000RMB (USD300+) rep watch. Give you an idea, I talked to a Taobao guy about BR, he insisted his watch contains same movement as gen, which turned out to be a tiny movement. I don't even know what it is...


That said, I bought few cheap rep just to try it out, they still works well.

u can buy any rep that total to $40 or less. More than that just forget it and stick to TD.
