Has Anybody Done a 38mm ROC CNC/Custom?

Hey Guys,

I know we have all been very excited with the new 26240 release, but until I get mine to try out, I just have a nagging feeling it just won't fit on my tiny 6.3 inch wrist. It might work, but in the event it does not, I would still love a top tier AP rep chrono for my daily use.

Right now, if you want a top tier chrono in 38mm you have to go the CNC route. I reached out to a supplier, and yes the 26315 is available to make with the proper 1185, SW dial, the works. However its a big expense to take a chance on, and having a lot of unanswered questions.

I was hoping to see if anybody has gone through this exercise, as I would love to see the results! Any other help when it comes to a CNC build is also greatly appreciated :)

Is this a recent development? I did see @grillbrill had posted a photo of a build that was supposedly a prototype. Are the CNC cases and SW dials now available for the 26315? Would be interested in a build if any TDs could confirm.

I believe the dial alone was something new, but I reached out to a dealer that said a 26315 CNC was indeed a possibility. 1185 movement is same as the one that goes into the 26331 CNC, I guess everything else is custom to those that want it

I'm seriously interested in this build but I haven't got funds for the custom route atm yet.

Yes , the 38mm ROC build can be done with some limitation in regards to the dials available.

I can make the funds work, but scared to jump into something like that unless I see some actual examples/reviews. I did see the dial that was posted, thus what sparked my interest in getting into a 38mm CNC. Truth be told the 26331 CNCs were amazing, I do not expect anything less, but I rather not go that route if the 26240 exists. I am going to try a 26240 out, see how it goes, if it is too large I may just bite the bullet.

I have two 26331 CNC builds which are big for my wrist. So I have no doubt that the 38 mm ROC would be a perfect fit for me.

I do not mean to pry, but it would then make sense to sell 1 (or both?) and take the plunge on a 38mm so you can get what fits you best. I tried on a 38mm and it was nearly perfect for me, I tried the grey dial 26715 but for me it would be the white/blue dial on the 26315 so the CNC version and the dial need to be spot on for that kind of dough.

I am really unsure of the process, do you have to pay in full at first and just live with whatever comes out, or do you have the opportunity to put a deposit until you see QC photos of the case/bracelet, and then go to the next part of the project or cancel if you are not happy?

In the case of specific watch models (including some AP ROs) I wear big watches and I don't care what others think about it.

I think every options can work depending on the modder/dealer and on your relationship with them. I bought one of my 26331 reps fully pre-paid while the other was built from parts sourced by the modder and me.

Hey guys, as all of you here I really do want a 38mm as well🥲 Does any of you have information if the 26331 movement will fit a 38mm cnc case, because I think the most expensive part would have been the gen movement, and if the 26331 movement fits a 38mm could be made

So the movement in the apw 26331 will fit in a 38mm cnc case?
Its a Daytona movement, but if you are going full CNC build, you might as well put a gen FC movement in there. I thought you were asking about gen, as the 2 gens use same movement.

I have heard that the cnc builds with gen FC movement are going for about 8-10k and the movement itself is around 6-7k for which I may be wring but it would be much more cheaper if the full cnc build is made with the rep daytona movement
I think nobody knows it yet. I think a significant modding is necessary at least.
Well lets hope that some of the factories will soon release a good 38mm rep with the whita and blue dial.. this is my grail watch but 30-40k is too much in my opinion as gen.. was about to get ine a couple of times but than decided it is better to wait for a rep

Got it- So maybe reach out to the builder/modder and ask if they can use Daytona movement modified/added date mechanism from the APW 26331, even if you have to buy an APW will only cost $600 and you can sell the parts afterwards.... or who knows maybe you like the 41mm size lol

Unfortunately the 41mm will be too big for my wrist, I recently found a shitter I got probable 10-11 years ago and measured the lug to lug and it is the same as the 26331 and 26240 tried it and voilaaa.. it looks too big on my tiny wrist… 😂😂😂
