So all ready to go out with family for fathers day brunch, driving to the restaurant in my car when i take a look at my trusty 090 and dear god, every PAM Freaks worst fear come true, my Crown Guard is hanging by one screw.
:realmad:
Naturally i am beyond mad, at myself for A) not tightening the screws in a while and B) not using loctite as all of the experienced ones have suggested.
Ohh well .. fast forward to after brunch. We head over to my sisters house for some tea/coffee. I quickly find the screws for my watch on ebay. Hopefully they fit, if not I guess i will be posting in the WTB section soon. In any case, I turn around and my brother in law hands me his PAM250 and says, take it, cuz he never wears it any more (Mr. Gen owner is too cool for reps hehe)
So he gives me this watch and I put it on and i am pleasantly surprised. I saw this watch on his arm like 4-5 years ago and its what got me into PAMs, but as I look it at, im pretty surprised about the quality for a 5 year old chrono rep. (Gen K series was 2008 I think)
First off, the CG pin is nice and flat. Next, the DW is not recessed. In fact, the only problem I see is that sub dial at 3 will not reset to 0, but that's fixable. Even the lume is fairly strong and even! Hands a little different color than dial.
I take a look at the caseback and its looks like a decent k-series case back. Looks like H-Fac, as the back appears to be etched and not engraved.
Anyways, i wanted to put this up here to see if anyone could provide some feedback. Whats going on with this watch? i thought the daylights from 6 years ago were all 7750's with sunken dw's, raised cg screws, and crummy AR. To me this watch actually looks really good! But you guys tell me, is there anything really off on this?
As a side note, i have to say that either he wore this watch very seldom, or he takes fantastic care of his watches. Barely any hairline scratches, winds smooth, even the bezel markers pain is perfectly in tact.
Let me know what you guys think?
