Hi, i went into a M2M sale that wasn't very good to me, i bought an explorer 2 GMF head, no bracelets, and this was reported:
I’m selling a beautiful brand new Explorer II watch, head only, no bracelet no other.
watch is not working and I don’t the problem.
In my opinion, the keyless needs to be reset and movement needs new parts.
But I don’t know or am not brave enough to do it, risking damaging the hands or the dial…
I assume brand new with problems so with a good watchsmith we can repair it, so i bought it and let my dear watchsmith ( one of the best in here and in my country) let the job as i didnt have the knowledge or just the idea on how to just open a watch.
So i send it to him, after he receive the watch he discover that neither the time nor the date were adjustable, really strange, and that the crown slipped, so he starts to work on the watch and he found that some screws were unscrew, that some spacer on the stem was missing, thats the reason of the slipping crown but moreover that two regulating wheel were missing so neither the time nor the date could be adjusted, someone already try to fix it with bad results and didnt reassemble all the parts, so he call me and told me to open a ticket, now i didn't open a ticket but this is a little bit weird to me but actually maybe it sounds ok to other members,
All i can say is that the watch is a GMF 226570 Ex 2 polar, price is around 408€ on trusty or other TD
I spent 180€ for the head only with a movement completely cheated, 165 € is the bracelets from any TD and now i'm forced to find or a new movement or all the missing parts plus the complete service and it will be a lot of money.
I went into a bad sale about my opinion, and on the description of the sale, brand new with defect is not what i've received.
I can just thank my mate watchsmith for all the constant support, and i never stop saying how great he is, and i wish to find a solution with this watch cause i'm really in love with this GMF, i alredy know that i'll spend a lot of money on this and that maybe next time the TD brand new option will be the better solution.
