Well, the watch guy called me today, and he got the crystal installed right side up in the jimmy case. This being his third attempt at it it is finally right.
attempt 1, he used a regular epoxy, so when i washed the watch with soap and hot water so that it evaporates quicker, it melted the glue and the crystal popped out.
attempt 2, he ordered in some proper crystal cement, not sure which one, but he said it was a proper compound. well it was in there solid, however it was upside down...lol
third time lucky. not only is it mounted right side up, but he did a great job. knock on wood. there is no residue left after i scraped off the little bit on the outside of the bezel. it actually looks like it was pressed in properly.
No pictures yet, but I will take a bunch as I am building it, and will post a before and after. I am waiting on a few parts to arrive.
can't wait.
