Hi guys, looking for some advice on swapping hands from different movements. Will hands from a DG2813 movement fit without modifications on an A2824/36? If not, are the pinion holes smaller, and what exactly is broaching, how is that done?

Thanks!

ETA 2824 hands:

Hour: 150 (1.50mm)
Minute: 90 (0.90mm)
Seconds: 20 (0.20mm)

DG2813 hands :

Hour: 150 (1.50mm)
Minute: 100 (1.00mm)
Seconds: 17 (0.17mm)

You can go from 90 to 100 without much difficulty, for the seconds going from 17 to 20 will be more difficult. You need a set of broaching files which are of a specific diameter, you widen the holes using the files.

Thanks!

The hour hand will work but the min and second hands won’t without modding.

I've also found that the hour hand tube is shaped a bit different - it fits onto a 2836 but was too shallow and loose
