hand choices for 6152-1 ?

I am thinking of ordering a 6152-1 , with "Marina Militare" on dial face. I would like to get it with blue military style steel hands as seen on the California dial wire lug panerai watches.

My question is, are there any known originals in collections that are set up this way? Would this combination be probable or common?

I think it's fantasy, but you never know. Back in the 40s and 50s consistency wasn't exactly the name of the game for Panerai (hence all the movement and dial changes).

What originally got me thinking about this was the watch that was discussed a while back that was captured by a British soldier and was then displayed on the UK "Antiques Road Show". It was basically a standard Radiomir with wire lugs but had the blued steel hands as we see on the California dial Panerai.

So if it was from an Italian sailor/soldier etc and had this mod (or was even amde this way) why not the 6152-1?

I wish there was a better reference site then Paneristi and the Italian slaes website someone sent me.

Thanks guys. You are reinforcing what I sort of sensed

I may skip this mod and just get a standard version.

However I may do another I have thought about:

Cali dial with the blued hands in a MM case with CG guard etc

I'm *still* jonesing for a mini-fiddy case. I just have too many watches on the list at the moment.

I think the Cali dial watch I own is actually a 44mm and not 47mm --so a 44mm case would work. Not sure if I'd do a mini-fiddy case--but I agree about the distortion of the domed crystal and how cool it looks.

Also mine would have the blue steel hands
