If you would like to see a more complete review of the watch in the same series, I would suggest you read the post by lan6it.

This one is the very same version with another dial colour. The blue colour is just mindbogglingly goooooddddd, very much like the blue colour you see on Patek Philippe Nautilus with chameleon effect. I would say that this comes with a darker blue than my IWC Portugieser Laureus.

This is definitely the watch to buy if you are going to start your genuine mechanical watch collection.

Well done Seiko... That's all I can say.

Nice looking time piece. I've been looking for mechanical Seikos for some time now on the bay. Maybe I should pull a triger for one of these.

I think look no further... Concentrate your search on such model. This watch has been discontinued and it can only get rarer each day.

The SS version is not bad either (with hobnail dial) but they don't come in this blue colour.

Initially I was afraid that the blue would disappoint as I have really nice blue watches to compare to and this one turns out to be a surprise.

They did an excellent job with the case/band integration on this one! Nice heavy band, simple but very strong. I think the only thing I'd change on this would be the pearl, other than that this is a great watch and one I'll have to look out for. Note to self: Seiko SBDA003

Features:
Case Titanium casing with protected titanium screw down crown and case back. Titanium unidirectional bezel with with blue insert. Bracelet Solid titanium linked bracelet with double locking clasp and divers wet suit extension. Dial Deep blue dial with luminous index baton markers on raised polished stainless steel plinths. Luminous hands. Date window at 3 o'clock position. Movement Seiko 7S25 21 jewel automatic movement. 21,600 BPH. Accuracy within +45 and -35 seconds per day.

The pearl is actually recessed, covered with glass. I think this is a better design than the protruding pearl ala Rolex. Even the crystal sits in pretty deeply making the bezel really the first guard against accidental knocks, etc.

@taka, this reminds me (not that it is even close) but reminds me of a Patek Nautilus Jumbo with the burnt blue dial,, this would be the sport version of that..

Indeed, I mean for the price of a rep Breitling SFSO... I would choose this watch anytime. OK the depth rating is 1/10th of that SFSO but who actually needs that kind of water resistancy.

The dial has very fine sunburst which is hard to photograph. I will try again some time tomorrow where there will be sunlight.
