I just noticed the parts page at Motor City Watch Works: http://motorcitywatchworks.com/movements.html

He has a Seagull 8850 that is a direct drop in for a 7750 for only $199! Also a 2824 for $169. That is amazing! Next time my 7750 craps out, I'm doing a movement swap with one of these!

Just thought I'd pass this along in case anyone has a watch that needs servicing. Jay might be able to do a movement swap for you too.

Hmm, not a bad deal at all. Don't think i've seen the 7750 clone freely offered before.

How do you tell what subdial configuration you're getting?

Usually 7750 subdials are 6,9,12, but I'd confirm with Jay before ordering with him. I've never used one of these movements, so proceed with caution. Things to consider are pinion height and hand sizes. I'm assuming the hand sizes are the same, but wouldn't know until I try it. Hope someone can give them a try and let us know the outcome.

The hands need to be broached a bit for a 7750 to an a7750 (or vice versa) swap.

That pictured movement is what is known around here as low beat 7750 - so it is direct replacement for ETA, but not really best clone 7750 there is. And, I would definitely not pay US$200 for it.

I'd be more interested in the Seagull 2130, direct replacement for an ETA 2824.

Shipping in US is free also.
