Hey, all:
As I went to post this, I saw that another happy client of @Zero2 made a thread about a VSF sub purchase earlier today. There's a reason for that -- he's a stand-up guy that's very responsive, intelligent and trustworthy.
My review will be in two parts. The first will be about my experience purchasing from @Zero2 and the latter will be my thoughts on comparing and contrasting my CF 126710BLNR and my VSF 126610LV.
After being happy with my BLNR purchase from a Taiwan-based TD while owning three gen Rolexes, this side of the hobby bit me, and I fell in love. My next piece was certainly going to be a 126610LV from VSF, which my friend @Dave2302 urged me to try. Additionally, as a US citizen, I was wary of buying from China w/ Trump now in office, and it appears that move paid off.
I saw Zero2 had the piece I wanted, and we hit it off immediately. After reading other positive reviews, I felt my money was in good hands. The piece was delivered right on time as promised by Zero2, and he threw in a travel case [thanks, BTW!]. It was pre-owned and thus at a very fair price, and the watch is in great condition. Can't recommend him enough, and I look forward to future business with him.
Now, RE: my observations between VSF and CF now that I have pieces from both, I'm curious if others have noticed the following [none of this reflects Zero2, just my observations between the two factories].
The VSF crystal is substantially better than CF, especially with cyclops legibility, and I believe the satin brushing is superior. One thing I noticed with the VSF is that when I went to wind the watch, which I usually turn 40x on my gens and have been with my CF, I felt some difficulty when I reached about 30 spins as if I was over-winding, so I stopped immediately. Also, compared to my gen 114060 Sub, I've noticed that turning the bezel is quite easier. With my gen Sub, if I went to turn the bezel while wearing it on my wrist, it was so hard to do that I felt like I was going to warp the pins in the upper links. The sound is on point, but the VSF is just easier to turn. Is that common with VSF? I've also read that some gens are easier to turn than others.
Completely in love with this piece! If Zero2 has something in stock you like, don't hesitate to buy from him! So glad I found a trusted member so early on during my short time on RWI. Guys like him is what makes this community!
Now, pics below. Thanks again, Zero2! You're the man.
