Got My Pumpkin! (Andrew's 4th Gen PO)

I got it the other day and I'm so happy. Live life a little! Wear a pumpkin, I'd say!

Now I can't take it off my wrist. The Breitling has to be in hibernation for a while until I get back my normal strength to my right hand. (I just had carpal tunnel surgery) This pumpkin is far easier for me to take it off or put on since it has that retractable pushers on the clasp for easy release or for snapping.

I like the feel on this bezel, not too hard or too soft but just right with enough resistance and definite click stops that corresponds exactly to the units. It's a pleasure to turn the unidirectional bezel with ease.

Amazingly, this is the most accurate mechanical watch I've ever owned, bar none (whether genuine or rep). Timekeeping is better than my gen Breitlings or my previous gen Rolex TT Blue Sub!!! I'm anal about accuracy as you know. At face up, it only gained 1.5 sec after 24 hrs. (side by side against the atomic clock)! The factory MUST HAVE regulated it before shipment.

Aesthetically for a rep, this watch has the closest resemblance to the genuine. The Omega logo is close to accurate being on the low side but not touching the name. The AR coating is also a plus for this domed shaped sapphire crystal. The sweeping second hand has just the right length of orange tip that reaches and covers the incremental units upon sweeping the dial. It has just the right spacing between "CHRONOMETER" and "600m/2000ft" as per genuine. On the bezel dot where the black triangle is, you could see the ever so minutely thin orange layer that extends towards the tip of the black triangle (a very minute detail so often overlooked). The "SWISS MADE" is exactly placed correctly below the incremental units. The HE crown is spot on. A very nicely made rep of a watch that I can be proud of. The only negative point I can say is the short minute hand, and by that, I mean just a tad by 1 mm. But hey it's just a rep. If you could just overlook this one aspect and focus on all the positive points I've pointed out, you've got one helluva rep at a very decent price! In conclusion, I can only say that you can still wait for another generation, but pulling the trigger now on Andrew's 4th Gen PO is as good enough for me to be a winner! Nice review Saavy, got mine from Andrew as well...

Did you get the pumpkin too?

The other day, I brought mine to my Omega AD to have the bracelet resized. He looked at it and admired it, then resized it with no questions. He didn't see any difference from his own genuine PO on his display!

This is just how good this watch is! I asked him, how much was the charge. He said, for bringing in an Omega, it's on the house. [smilie=thumbsup.gif]

As good as the rep PO is, i would feel nervous bringing it to an AD to get it size.

Buy the one from Aspire. They have it for $159.

Paul and I haven\'t been on the best terms for awhile, I\'ll just leave it at that for now.

I'll start off by saying that I'm VERY cautious when it comes to anyone not accepting Paypal. That whole "my credit card company will probably stand behind me" keeps me warm at night. Aspire is only Western Union right? Plus I heard from some people there might have been some issues in the past with them? I'm not trying to stir anything up, just get all the facts before I order from someone. Aside from those things though I was looking at aspire and I'm not going to lie and say I looked through everything but I scanned and I didn't see any shipping fees. Does anyone know if shipping is included in their prices (highly doubt it) and if not what they charge to ship to U.S.? I'm REALLY REALLY trying to hold off until the 45mm comes out but this watch is just gorgeous and I'm keeping all of my options open. Plus I saw that dang Casino Royale poster today and he's wearing it! I'm going to be flossing my Orange PO at the premier!!

Beautiful watch Savvy...and superb rep indeed. I need to get this too.

I briefly had the 3rd gen which wasn't too bad, either. But the 4th gen is better in many aspects.

I see you got the Precious Time/TTK version.
What details you lacked from Andrew's version, you have scored with your long minute hand!
It ain't that bad at all [smilie=thumbsup.gif]

@Savvy:

It didn't have the orange triangle on the bezel (around the pearl). The date font was too dark and the orange bezel was too pale in color (just a little bit). The clasp didn't have PLANET OCEAN engraved and I suspect the bezel font wasn't as good as in 4th gen, either. (too thin)

It was a heavy, solid watch and very good rep indeed. But the 4th gen corrected almost all flaws so I decided to trade it. Now I'm waiting for someone at EU to sell the 4th gen (Precious Time said that he might be able to source this rep). When I traded my 3rd gen I wanted to get the black one instead... now I'm not so sure anymore. Yeah, the same old blues... :D

This was my old review of the 3rd gen (reposted here):

nobody will notice the triangle thing.

True. But the pearl in the 3rd gen was shite. It's not perfect in 4th gen, either... but much better. But the things that really bothered me were the pale orange bezel and dark date font. I could have lived with the other flaws but those two things ruined the watch for me. It had better hands though.

I sold my 3rd edition the same things bothered me. I bought EL tt sub (very nice) and I picked up the 4th edition also. The lack of AR coating bugged me too.
