When I went to search for the moonwatch on ebay to buy the gen for my birthday, I saw that 85% were fake on ebay (compare the pictures of real and fake on our forums). I was surprised that people were paying hundreds of dollars for something that costs around $268. Here are just a few examples:

These were just the ones I got so I could prove my point. So, why don't any of you guys start a business? Apperantly if you guys check the history of these ebay dealers, they've been selling a few hundred of these watches. I emailed one of the dealers who was selling it and I said I know it's a fake, this was his answer:

"You know it's a fake? So do I. But I've been doing this for 4 years on ebay, there is almost no way of being caught, and I'm riding a ferrari enzo, cheers mate!"

So, at 3 AM here in Paris, I had to post this up!!

the pix are deff gens...i just compared one of them to my gen moony and its...dead on.

I have heard of people doing this for business and at the same time I dont know how exactly you would do this morally....I mean if you could get a rep that looked semi-identical to a gen, only an idiot would buy it for that much....

They are gens, you must have got the comparison pictures mixed up?

That doesn't mean that you will get the watch pictured or that their arent auction showing pictures of reps selling as genuine. Just means your really bad at picking examples, stick around for a while you'll get better.

what are the reprocutions of this, for a seller if you buy a fake and can certify it. when some one advertises it as genuine.

If they refund your money immediatly, probably not much would happen if they pleaded ignorance... You could be prosecuted for fraud, plus face civil litigation between not only the person that bought the watch but the genuine manufacturer. Rolex has been known to have their lawyers send letters to casual rep sellers on ebay and pursue further actions with people that continue after the "friendly" letter.
