I was stuck in the Jamaica Airport for a couple hours and spent some time in one of the watch stores there. They had some nice stuff, Hublot/Breitling etc. I asked the salesman about the blackbird and he showed it too me, telling me all about the specs, yada yada. It's on the strap and they don't have the correct bracelet. The salesman tells me he can do $4K USD out the door without even blinking or looking at the price tag on it. I was pretty impressed. The last AD (inside the US) I looked at this one listed for over $6500 I think and he wasn't gonna take off more than 20%. I know there is some Duty free benefit, but doesn't that seem like an outrageously good deal being that it was his first offer and I didn't even start haggling!

Jomashop lists it retail for 6940 and their price (which is usually pretty good) is 4800.

BTW my wife pulled me away and I never got back to bargaining...

Any thoughts...?

To me it's still pretty high but due to weak USD, you are getting a good price. Maybe if it's 4k with bracelet, that's another story.

Man it's like there is some kind of huge cosmic topic bucket out there. I have been doing nothing but looking at Blackbirds for the last three days for my review. Suddenly I see all these threads pop up about it. The price on a strap sounds right based on what I have been seeing. However, the watch market is slow right now in general so if the guy is motivated, you might be able to push him a little more.

Well Fakey, put me down as the first in line to buy your blackbird after the review, I've been drooling over them for weeks. I even bought a gen rubber to put on it before I ordered the watch!
