Good news, upgraded Davidsen 005 on the way

Hey, guys. Just got an email from Davidsen telling me that my upgraded 005 is finished. He will ship on Monday, I guess, which means I could have it as early as Friday, but likely by the following Monday.

I know that these upgrades are of interest to a lot of you, so I'll be sure to post some pics. I'm sure the lume will be green, which we've learned is not accurate, and I'm sure the font won't be perfect. That said -- I expect very good things. The dial and hands are supposedly superlumed, and it will have the signature upgraded pin, crown and crown guard.

I'm confused. The pics you have posted are not of a 005. Am I missing something?

No, not missing anything. Those are just some pictures that I took indicating what the 005 pics will look like.

You're right, though. They don't add much, so I'll delete them.

when i talked to him a few days ago he told me the 005/195 would have the same font but would have superlume on the dial and hands. i will be looking for your pictures as i will probably update the dial on my 195. i am intrested in the lume color. he also told me the 111h would have the correct fontes as well as super lume. i will buy one of these in the future.

Well, color me disappointed. Just received the 005 in the mail today, and it's the old dial, not the new. I paid for the new dial, too.

The hands are MUCH brighter than the numbers, which tells me it's the old style -- the numbers are VERY green in tint. The crown and CG are great. Nice brushed finish. I won't get into the font debate, because I think the fonts are what they are.

I've contacted him about the dial, hopefully he will send me a new one. A bit of a hassle to be sure, but if I paid for it, then I want it.

the upgraded dial in your watch was more money?

your new dial should be c3 lume which is a cream color instead of green. let us know, that's what i am waiting on to order.

It's not cream. It's green. The regular dial version was $300, he wanted $320 for the upgraded dial. It is absolutely, definitely, positively NOT the upgraded dial. I've got the email trail to prove that I ordered it, too.

All that said, there is no need to be confrontational about it with him yet. I've sent an email, he has yet to respond. I've ordered a few items from him in the past and he's always delivered. This was just an oversight, I'm sure.

It will be a big pain in the butt to swap those dials, though.
