I inquired about the new CG's that i saw on his new 115 and they will be available in brushed SS and PVD for his second gen cases in about 2 weeks. I know that the CG's on the 2nd gen watches have been sticking in my craw. Once I replace the CG's on my 201a and 195, they will be near perfection in my eyes. Once again thanx to David for responding to our anal retentive desires.

If you look at the old CG lever, it is further away from the case. If you look at the newer Cg the lever is more flush with the case.

It is great to have a vendor so willing to improve its product so quickly.

Still, I think the crown-to-CG clearance was much closer to the gen on the V2 crown. This new crown guard seems not to leave too much clearance to the crown. I don't know if this will happen on all watches, but that crown looks quite close to the guard. To my taste, the reduction in CG height may have been slightly overdone?

Still, a nice improvement. Many thanks.

201A

I also have the 201a with this lever / CG issue. Is it hard to replace a CG? I will be back to David for the part as I want to make this one close, I'm already very fond of it - one of my top 3.

I went on a 2 weeks' camping / road trip and took 4 watches (1950, 202a, 172..) and found that the 201a became my fav wearer. I swam in it - it is such a practical / usable piece that Davidsen has provided. Worth improving on with this CG fix.

Thx, BBB

That's great news...I love everything about my 195.... except for the crown guard.
