Have been looking into it for some time now. Not so crazy about the strap, but that can change. Any suggestions? What size strap do I need for a 40mm Pam. (I know, I have a girly wrist)

If I were you I suggest that you go to an AD and try on a 40 and a 44mm and see which is better for you. You might be pleasantly surprised at which one you prefer. If you want some wrist shot pics look for ones from azgjav, he is into the big clocks on his wrist and has self-admitted thin wrists. My wife has a 40mm, but never wears one only the 44mm. As you can see in my sig even my daughter prefers the 44mm. But who am I to say. Don't know too much about these Panerai thingies.

as someone who always says go 44mm

i'll say it again...

but not just for size. check out the difference in crown guard size/thickness and other factors that set the 44mm and 40mm apart.

everyone i know has changed their mind with the 40mm, even the most wrist sized challenged...take it from me, i started with 40mm and within a month, was selling it (very hard to sell!) to get a 44mm

Same wrist as me... but I don't think any amount of trying on I do at AD's will I look good with a 44 mm.

I agree with you. The 40 mm is going to be just fine for you. If your wrist is only 6 inches, that 44mm will completely cover your arm. I have a 7 inch wrist and can just barely deal with the 44 mm. I prefer to wear the 40 mm but that is a matter of personal taste. To me, a huge watch on a small wrist looks more like a clock than a watch which is a statement that I don't care to make. Perhaps I am not fashion conscious enough to appreciate the trend. However, I don't wear my pants way over sized with the crotch at my knees either.

I have a 5.75 inch wrist (6 if i fudge my measurements :D )

The 40mm pannies take 22mm straps. here's my wrist with a 40mm Pam!

If you have wrists of 6.5 inches or more, i suggest for a 44mm! heck, even this one woman with 5 inch wrists on Timezone is upgrading to a 44mm.

Here's a 42mm Omega PO on me wrist Harr harr harr! you get used to the 40 mm size and the whole appeal of the panerai is its supposed to be big watch! I saw Robin Williams, a small man with about the same wrist size as me, wearing a 44mm. The sales rep at the Pannie AD with same size wrists as me also sporting a 44mm.

I regularly wear 42 mm watches, but that is probably my limit. Everything above that looks too overdone.

The Panerai looks really good on you, Crick... as does the Planet Ocean. Now if they only made it on a rubber, then I'd snatch it up.

Thanks Az!

yeah you get used to it. I love the 40 mm pannie. I want to get a 44 later on for fun. Or... a wall clock... one of the two.

the funny thing is the 40mm pannie still looks or feel bigger on my wrist than the 42mm po.

if any of you opt for a 40mm pannie with 6 inch wrists, go for custom made straps at TC straps, 110/65 measurements. Those rock.

should make a small, lanky wrist club or something. :D

I'd like to see how a 38 mm Audemars Piguet looks on a 6 inch wrist... since their odd case design makes it look quite a bit larger.
