As it seems hard to find a 036 (marina militare tobacco dial) to buy, i would like some opinions on GMT (titanium) as well as PVD models. Which dealer would offer the best reps? (based on each one's opinions of course)

The best option for PVD is Davidsen, full stop.

GMTs? Are you thinking 029/063 or the newer GMT models?

As Nikos asked about Ti GMT's I think he meant the 089. Got mine from River. Don't know if it is any better or worse than the models sold by other dealers. What I do know: "His price was pretty hard to beat !

Ah, good point. I completely missed that.

I'm not sure how many versions of the 088 are out there. River's looked good to me, though! His prices are always among the lowest and he's a great guy to buy from.

The blue dial is a fantasy model, though. I remember that River was offering anthracite, black and blue dials, wasn't he?

Indeed, River offered them in the three colours you mention. I have the blue (fantasy) version. It looks great on a dark blue BOB Vertigo!

I agree. I thought the blue was the nicest looking of the bunch....

I think we can now answer the original question. Three choices for a PVD PAM: 1. DSN 2. Davidsen 3. David

Ti PAM's are rapidly becoming "hard to get" Apart from David the cartel dealers still have the Ti GMT, and Ruby has it on her website, which is probably no guarantee she still has it.

Gen Ti auto crown, LOS? Or are you gonna have Ziggy use a stem adapter to fit the Ti gen 6497 crown?

It'll be a stem adapter... plenty of room for it to go from 1.2mm to .9mm....

hehe... and i am awaiting delivery on a micro drill bit set (.7-2.0mm) and a micro tap and die set (.9-2.0mm)... i've got a crazy idea to tap an auto SS crown for use on a certain 001b i have in my possession....

just imagine it, an 001b with a gen crown guard and crown!

Ooooooohhhh! That would be nice!

Keep us updated on your progress! Do you have a drill press to use? I wouldn't trust myself to drill/tap it straight by hand....

Looking for a micro drill press too.... the bits and tap/die were like $30 total... so i'm hoping to stay under $100 for my lil experiment... but if it becomes possible.... just imagine how it's going to turn out!

For the Titanium 089 and 088, DSN should have his newest incarnation with the correct minute hand ready in the next 2 weeks. All of the other models have the skinny minute hand that is not correct. The correct minute hand should be the same width as the hour hand. Puretimes model, also suffers from the wrong hand situation, even though the date font and cyclops have been upgraded. There are reports of problems with his model due to the configuration of the hi-beat Asian 7750 that is used, where the GMT hand actually jumps ahead hour by hour (Very Cool), but the gearing puts stress on the movement and it breaks down. Not unlike the seconds at six problem with the Daytona. The 088 and 089 seem to be really hot now, but you really need to do some research to get the best model.

Yes, it is the 089 i am talking about. I like it very much in anthracite ( i already have a Tissot with blue dial, so i am bored of the colour). I think though that the PVD models are more unusual , more "special" (if i am using the right word) :)

Wow. That's alot of info. I don't see a need for the GMT to jump. It should sweep. Maybe it's just me. Don't know much about these though. Only GMT PVD I have is my new Rollie project watch.
