Gmt master II movement options?

I'm looking to purchase a noob gmt master II with a ceramic black bezel, model 116710LN.

I found this thread which got me excited for a good gmt rep:

https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/big-noob-gmt-chs-thread.354018/

But, I have gotten a bit lost in choosing a good reliable movement that also compliments an accurate gmt replica. My head is spinning with all of the options so I'll list out what I have found in my research and correct me if I'm wrong.

Sa3135 - first rep of gen movement, but basically shit
Sh3135 - better than sa, but not an option for gmt?
A23J - lowest quality rep
A3187 - on puretime, but can't find much solid advice about it
A2824 - best asian movement for reliability, not listed on any puretime gmt that I saw
A2824-2 - not sure what this is
A2836 - basically an a2824 with chs and dressed up to look like gen
A2836 v2 - not sure about this one either
ETA - obviously the best option, but most expensive and not sure what works with gmt

Most of the gmt movements I've read about seem to be fussy. They either break if you set the time wrong or they don't act like a gen would. Where would you start if you were buying a gmt? Or is the gmt movement too complex to accurately replicate at the moment, like the daytona's fake chronos?

Also, I loved this article on submariners and felt it did a great job of setting the facts straight on what and who to buy from. It's great for those of us who don't have a lot of prior knowledge of every version that is being produced; so info similar to this would be awesome!

Not sure where are you going at when choosing movements when your choices are basically either incorrect hand stack or correct hand stack, with the latter being the more gen-accurate but unstable one.

They replicated gen mvt behaviour with the CHS, but there is an issue with the jumping hour hand spring that is used to set the date. I believe there is a thread about that in the Rolex subforum.

Of course, if you have the money, you can always mod a yuki 3135 and convert it to a 3185 with gen parts - like this. https://forum.replica-watch.info/index.php?threads/379647/

I was looking at puretime, bk's page, and the threads I listed above but if there's a better place you would recommend, let me know! I'm really just trying to wrap my head around the different movements and their pros and cons for the gmt.

As I had mentioned before, for the GMT Masters you are limited to only 2 options. There is nothing much you need to wrap your head around. Pro's and con's I had mentioned as well.

Anyways, it's irregardless where you get it from. Its the same watch. Just different customer service.

Exactly. Only 2 options for the GMT unless you do the Yuki way.

have a gmt master ii with borked A3186/3187. Wanting a replacement, can you buy the movement direct from noob? And roughly how much does a yuki A3186 movement cost?
I have a CHS noob v7 so if I do wanna revert to the older more reliable ICHS 2836-2, is it as simple as dropping the A2836-2 with dial+hands into the case? Is it a 1 for 1 fit?

if you got the money, then Yuki 3185 is an option (cost $1100 USD according to an old sales thread). I have seen ebay selling genuine brand new Rolex 3186 movement for $2100 USD as well

the Noob CHS case can fit a yuki 3185 but a movement ring is needed https://rwg.cc/topic/188109-116710-gmt-ii-franken-is-alive/

2836-2 GMT movement might fit, but i haven't read someone doing that before. Maybe someone else can chime in

thanks for your always helpful and informative post @pompompurin.

Looks like i'll just wait for an asian movement to be sold on the forum, $1.1k for a movement is bit much for a rep.

I doubt you'll see a CHS movement for sale as they are quite fragile. Better to do the Yuki conversion and have a reliable movement.

I believe helenarou sells an asian GMT converted 2836-2 movement - but you have to email him because it isn't listed on the website. Here is the helenarou website and here is their email

Make sure you know what is the size of the 2836-2's movement GMT wheel so that you can order the right GMT hand from elsewhere (or from helenarou as well - if they supply them).

Good luck!
