I have just received my Pam 029 and I have a question regarding the GMT hour hand. On mine the hand is not lined up with the hour. I was wondering if there is any simple fix for this? other than this, I feel this watch is incredible!

I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a video showing the movement of the gmt hand being set. I know it is supposed to "hop" from hour to hour and I just wanted to see this in action. Mine seems to just normally move as opposed to jumping.

Last thing, i promise... Are there any rules regarding what can and cant be done with this movement? (Asian 2836-2) is it ok to wind the watch a few times a week manually if not worn every day? does it matter which way you turn the crown?
thanks in advance for all of the help

When you pull the crown out to the first position, moving the crown in one direction should change the date, moving it the opposite direction should adjust the GMT hand.

I don't have a 029 but ithink you first have set the " normal hands " on let's say 12 o'clock and then set the gmt hand , which should jump from hour to hour position , on the hour marker that you want it to be , otherwise it will never be in sync.

Don't forget, the GMT hand moves twice as slowly as the hour hand (it only rotates one full turn in 24 hrs). It should move the same as the hour and minute hands (i.e. it shouldn't "jump").

You measure the GMT time by the 24 hour markings on the dial. Example: when the GMT hand is on 14 and the minute hand is on 5, it is 5 past 2 PM.

Hope this helps

Hi all,

my PAM029 bought to a member of this forum seems to have the same problem.
GMT hand is not jumping from hour to hour when I set the GMT hand via the crown.

It moves slowly just like when I set up the normal hands.

I don't know if I am clear but you can see the differences in this video from PT, at 2min07

Anyone have an idea to help me ?

Thx in advance.

Not clue mine jumps counter clock wise in steps of 1 hour. BTW mine has a confirmed ETA movement. I know of a fellow member who had an asian copy but also with jumping hand. Are you able to get the gmt hand in sync with the normal hour hand ??
