GMT function for PAMs?

Hi guys,

Looking to get another PAM and want it to be something more 'different' than the 359 that I've got. Been thinking about some of the GMT's for PAM's such as the 088 or the 237H.

For you PAM experts out there, does the GMT function works as per the gen or is it non-working/different? Pardon me if this has already been explained or discussed somewhere else on the forum but I could not find any mention of the GMT function on ALE's guide. Maybe I just didn't search hard enough :thinking:

The GMT function works,and uses a couple of different movements.Both are independently adjustable.
Models like the o29 use a 2836 modified GMT movement,while models like the 088 use a 7750 GMT.(never had a 237H)
I have owned a bunch of Pam's (despite not being a fan) and have subsequently sold them all with the exception of the 088.
The 029 and 088 are both very well produced reps, but just be aware the A2836 GMT used in the 029 reps and others, can have occasional GMT hand slippage.

Love the 088 but not sure if the grey seconds dial @ 9 would do it for me tbh. The 237H is basically the same as the 088 but not sure why it is not regarded as a super rep in the guide
Not sure what the different movements meant in terms of GMT function but hey as long as it works I ain't complaining.

The 2836 movement was not designed for GMT, it was modified to run it,it is a central large seconds hand movement.
The 7750 movement has a GMT drive but seconds are at 3 if it is not modified.
Possibly the 237 dial is not made as well.
Maybe have a look at the 089 as it is an all black dial and a super rep.

Am definitely leaning towards the 089 atm. However, it is not really a all black dial but more of a "Anthracite" brushed dial is what they call it. Has a greyish or black look dial depending on the angle and the lighting when looking at it.
On a plus side - its definitely something 'different' that I'm looking for in my next PAM

All PAM GMT good quality reps have working GMT function.

The only problem with GMT function on reps is when the gen has GMT 12hrs. with GMT hand running a complete lop every 12 hrs., due to ALL GMT reps movements have GMT 24 hrs. with GMT hand running a complete lop every 24 hrs
Therefore with GMT gens of 24 hrs, like PAM 088 or 089 you will not get inaccuracy OF GMT working on reps
But with gens GMT 12 hrs. like PAM 320, 441 etc... you will get always a rep GMT working but inaccurate GMT function.

BTW: usually this is explained in PAM GUIDE mainly when we have the problem of gen GMT 12 hrs

PAM 089 is good but much better PAM 088 Noob (one of the best reps so far)
